In 2017, Deutsche Telekom vacated a high-rise building in Bielefeld, Germany. Subsequently, the idea was to convert it into a residential student building. The centrally located facility has 18 floors and stands 76m tall or 95.5m when including the building's telecommunications tower. The Goldbeck Nord GmbH construction company used Scanclimber by Tractel's SC8000 twin unit mast climber with a full-length capacity of 46.2m for the facade renovation work.
Växjö is the centre of the wood building industry in Sweden. The new town hall and railway station is mostly of wood and glass construction with inclined facades. Skanska used Scanclimber's inclined mast climbers for the facade installation work.
Weather covers are used in the construction industry to protect buildings against bad weather and to keep structures dry during the construction process. Weather covers are also increasingly used in renovations - for example in roof replacement projects. The growing use of wood in construction, especially in Nordic markets, is also increasing demand. So far, the use of scaffolding to build a weather cover solution has been the norm.
The student housing organization KOAS, is building new student housing in the city of Jyväskylä, in central Finland. It aims to provide 160 new apartments for students studying in the city.
ABB Company constructed the Mülheim-Kärlich nuclear power plant from 1975 to 1986. The plant is located on the Rhine, close to Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany. The plant operated for only three years before taken offline in 1988 because it stood on an earth-quake-prone area.
